Parents and Guardians,
The teachers and staff would like to welcome everyone back for the 2024-25 school year. The Blue Eye community is like family, and we look forward to learning and growing with your children this year. As parents and educators, we are all on the same team and we look forward to working closely together to ensure the success and well-being of your students. As we approach this new school year, we will continue to keep student achievement as our top priority.
Our goal is to encourage students to become problem solvers, productive members of society and to engage in lifelong learning.
Teachers and staff will work diligently to keep the lines of communication open between school and home. The Blue Eye District uses the Blue Eye School webpage and Facebook page, newsletters from classroom teachers, GOOGLE classroom, Seesaw, and email to make announcements.
We encourage parents to stay connected and informed by following these pages for updated information. Of course, you can always call the office @ 417-779-4318 if you have other questions.
Every Friday is BULLDOG PRIDE Day and we encourage students to celebrate being a BULLDOG by wearing their BULLDOG t-shirts or other BULLDOG apparel.
Thank you for sharing your children with us and we look forward to watching them grow both academically and socially.
Sincerely,
Teresa J. Porter and Dr. Chris Butler
AMI
Parents and Guardians,
The Blue Eye R-V School District is excited to share that the state has granted approval for the District to offer “Alternative Methods of Instruction” or AMI days during the 2024-25 school year. This plan will allow the opportunity for Blue Eye students to engage in meaningful learning on weather days or emergency days when conditions prevent school from being in session. It will be at the District’s discretion whether the school is considered “closed” or if an AMI session will be implemented.
What Does Ami Mean?
AMI simply allows for the continuation of learning when students miss days of regular instruction. Students will have the opportunity for skill reinforcement, remediation, and enrichment through electronic or conventional paper lessons. A few benefits of an AMI day include more instructional time before State testing; assist in eliminating gaps in learning by providing learning activities; and reducing the need for days to be added at the end of the school calendar.
Important Points To Remember For Ami Days:
Students will NOT attend school on an AMI day. All students will have assigned work to be completed at home on these days.
AMI days may count as instructional days and do not have to be made up at the end of the school year if students and staff complete assigned work.
Students who do not complete the work will be marked absent for the related AMI day AND will receive a zero for that assignment.
The District will make an announcement if an AMI day is being used through regular notification systems. (Phone, email, Facebook, etc.)
If school is not in session due to weather or illness, we will communicate if the day will be an AMI day.
Sincerely,
Dr. Butler, Mr. Cavener and Mrs. Porter
